Stephen Benoit joined Export Development Canada(EDC) in August 2006 after spending 15 years living and working in Latin America. Mr. Benoit has an extensive international trade background that includes more than 20 years of successfully enterprise in Latin America. He has been engaged in all facets of international commerce: Project Management, Procurement and Logistics, Contracting, Finance, Market Research, Business Development and Sales, as well as, a focus on development issues. Prior to joining EDC, Mr. Benoit was a Managing Partner at Global Marketing & Services, running a consultancy from La Paz, Bolivia and Caracas, Venezuela. He focused on creating opportunities for foreign and local companies. As well, a significant amount of time has been dedicated to Rural Development, with an emphasis on communication technologies.
Mr. Benoit has a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Patrick’s College, Carleton University. He also successfully completed the Canadian Securities Course.
